July 31st

I know I have posted this picture before and I know I have alluded to my great fascination with Robert Pattinson.

Of course it started with Twilight, if anyone tries to tell you they found him in Harry Potter it is a lie. I barely even remember him in Harry Potter. Anyways, I was skeptical about the whole Twilight universe and it wasn't until about a month after the movie came out on DVD and it had just won a bunch of awards at the MTV Movie Awards that I found an interest in watching it. I actually think there just wasn't anything else at Blockbuster I hadn't already seen or wanted to see. Long story short, we rented it, I watched it, I LOVED it and I went out and bought all the books the next day. (I know I am weird but thank you for thinking that)

I read all four books in the matter of about a month and this was a MAJOR feat for me considering I think I can count on one hand the amount of books I have read cover to cover (not counting the Gossip Girl books). So, here I am immersed in my Twilight world and to date I have been to the second and third movie midnight openings. I have read all four of the books a total of four times and I will read them all again someday soon.

I don't think this obsession is unhealthy because it has opened my eyes to other books and movies these actors (mainly Robert and Kristen) are in or are making movies about. This leads to the topic of this post.

I began reading Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen in early March when I learned that Robert Pattinson would be starring in the movie about it. Of course in early March school was in full swing and I was not able to finish the book until late May when I went on a trip. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. It is truly an awesome story, and I am sure the movie will be even better (because it has Robert Pattinson).

Ok, I have lost track sort of.

So, filming began for this movie while I was completing it. Late May. It was early July when there was a rumor spreading online that the movie would be coming to film in Chattanooga, TN sometime early August.

My excitement = THROUGH THE ROOF.

I have never been one for stalking or anything like that, but that was just way to close to not try. So on July 31st a fellow celebrity stalker and Robert Pattinson fan made our way to Chattanooga. We had a delay in heading down, as I had to work, but it was well worth it. We did not miss anything. We arrived in Chattanooga about 2:30. Yes, we had looked up where he was "supposedly" staying and that was where we headed first. There were plenty of other people there, but as the day ran on and there was no sign people started to leave. We, however, were not going to give up. We sat outside the hotel for a good  five hours. We had heard positive things about maybe seeing him as he came back in for the night, so we were rolling with it. It was about 9 PM when a hotel guest attending a wedding walked by and casually said to us, "Hey are you waiting on that Twilight guy?.....He is just down the street at the CBC" Ummmm OMG. So, my friend and I headed that way with some awful directions (it was only about three blocks) and let me tell you I have never been so happy to be 21 in my life. We made it in with no problem. We had to scout it out and we found him upstairs! WOW. We were literally inches, but there was an "invisible" line we could not cross, as it was a private party. However we infiltrated and about two hours later, after talking and talking and talking and talking to people (pretending we were not there to stalk Robert Pattinson) we made it INCHES no CENTIMETERS from him! I brushed my arm against him! I did not get to talk to him because of course by the time we made it next to him, he was leaving.

Anyways, we were super excited and floating on cloud nine. We could have cared less that we didn't get a picture. BUT, the next day we both signed online, and there we both were (kind of) standing next to Robert Pattinson.

And there is my completely long story about my encounter with a celebrity not in a Hollywood way.

This is going to be a great movie and I tell this whole story today because a trailer was just released.

Watch it. If you like it, go and read the book. (Actually you should just read the book anyways)

GREAT BOOK!
