In this book this author says that men are like waffles because they put everything into perfect little compartments and that when they are playing video games or watching TV, that is the only thing they are thinking about at that moment, thus making it easier for them to completely tune out. The author also puts this in line with saying guys are good problem solvers because they, "enter a box, size up the 'problem,' and formulate a solution."
The author goes on to describe women as spaghetti because to a woman, "every thought and issue is connected to every other thought and issue in some way." This is SO true. As women we constantly are trying to put the puzzle of life together. We are constantly trying to make 2+1=4 when it really only equals 3. The author states that women are constantly in the pursuit of connecting life together.
During an problem solving venture the author states that women can readily put together the logical, emotional, relational, and spiritual aspects. This connection thing happens naturally for women while for a man it requires them to jump around to many different compartments and asks them to think about things in a much more difficult manner.
While I am not a guy, I can only represent the woman's side of this book and from my side the book is telling the truth 110%. I am constantly trying to figure it all out and I am constantly trying to reason the actions of guys, why they say what they say, why they do what they do and all the while they are meaning what they are actually saying.
I think you could tell me this ten million times but I am a girl and I will continue to try and connect the dots of life.
So, moral of the story for all you women out there...He means what he is saying, NOT what you want him to mean.
SHOCKER, I know.
