Oh, the times they are a changing.

So, as I have previously stated I am currently enrolled in this great social media class. Recently we had a fantastic speaker, Laura Bower of The Tombras Group, come and talk to us about blogging and from her lecture I have since decided to make some changes to my blog.

Here are my notes from her discussion:

-       Blogging Do’s and Don’ts
o   Be informative (I think I am, sometimes)
o   Be candid (Definitely have this down)
o   Give a glimpse (hmm....)
o   Be consistent (Yea.....I don't think I'm doing this)
o   Post regularly (I try)
o   Always be yourself (I think I am ALWAYS myself)
o   Be professional (Ooops)
o   Be creative (I love creative)
o   Do not be in constant sales mode (I don't have anything to sell but my awesome self)
§  Blogs are about building relationships and trust (I think I am trustworthy, do you?)
o   Don’t be negative (NEVER!)
o   Don’t be too personal (I try my best, but sometimes life just happens)
§  Not a personal diary (but I don't have a diary)
o   Content is the most important thing (I love my content)
o   Don’t be thief (I always state if it ain't mine)

So, from the above list I have decided that I need to focus on my consistency. You all need to know what you are going to get from me, unless I just decide to surprise you, so I am going to try and follow the below list of how postings will go. Don't kill me if I sway from this or if I don't end up posting everyday. I will try my best, but I am only one person, I am a senior and I am trying to find a job.

Sunday: Word of the Day - I am going to take it back to the basics, the reason I started this blog.
Monday: Social Media - What is hip and happening in the social media world!
Tuesday: Music - I have a deep affection for music and I want to share that with you all.
Wednesday: Love - Yes, I'm a girl.
Thursday: Quotes
Friday: Life - I think this is pretty much the miscellaneous post.
Saturday: Photography - There is nothing more inspiring than seeing the world through a camera lens.

I am hoping to follow this schedule but you know what they say when you hope for something, "It's bond not to happen" (quote by me)

I would also like to thank Laura Bower once again for speaking to our class. Your energy was great and all your information has been extremely helpful!

so that you can do something about it now.
